The End
It's finally the end of the week, what a long week it was! There ended up being no school on Tuesday and Wednesday because of ice and 'well' below zero wind chill temps. It started to snow last night and we were all really surprised that there was school today, the weather was actually worse this morning than it was on Wednesday! I guess it turned out OK, they didn't have to cancel the boy's basketball game this evening and we even won! Of course, no thanks to the coach for the win tonight, but that's another blog sometime or maybe never. I will leave that at that for I do not wish to end this blog in a really, REALLY bad mood!
Tomorrow, Emily and I venture to Roscommon for district Sr. Solo/Ensemble. She definitely doesn't want to ride the bus because they have to leave around 6 in the morning. She doesn't even play until 11:38, so, I guess I will do my duty and be her personal driver. We should be home around 3 or so, so I guess it's not too long of a day. Em has signed up for a solo with her alto sax, a solo with the baritone sax and a quartet with 3 other sax players, I actually got to hear them play yesterday and if they don't score a 1, I'll be completely in shock! She actually had to pick out a different song for one of her solos because the piano accompaniment didn't match up in the same key. She got lucky and the first piece of music she found worked out for her.....whew!
I'm annoyed at the moment, but it's about something that will not be changing any time in the near future, I know this from previous experience, which means I just have to bite my tongue and smile....well, OK, I'm not gonna smile about it, but I suppose for peace, I have to bite my tongue. *ouch*
My eldest child_unit called me this morning!!!!!!! Yes, I smiled, it actually made my day!
I don't think I'll have any problems sleeping tonight. I'm fairly tired because I kept waking up through the night checking on the weather and wondering if school was going to be closed. To add to my lack of sleep, I walked 3.4 miles followed by 10 minutes with my weighted hula hoop and then arm curls. I still have to do some push-ups before I go to bed, which will probably be pretty soon since I'll want to get up a little early so that I can get a little walking in before we leave for the solo/ensemble. Hmmm, maybe sleeping in sounds a little better and then I can walk when we get home...yeah, that sounds like a better plan :)
I'm currently reading "The Picture of Dorian Gray" by Oscar Wilde, I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet, it's been kind of slow to get into it. I suppose I could get into it a little more if I would just sit down and invest some time into it instead of reading for 5-10 min. a couple times a day. I actually have a lot of classics to read, the ones I'm really looking forward to are "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte and "The Taming of the Shrew" by Shakespeare. I've heard that the movie "10 Things I Hate About You" with Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles is based on that Shakespeare novel/story/play, I'm not quite sure what it is.
It truly drives me nuts when someone just paces around!!! Almost as bad as when someone you're sitting next to can't keep their legs still and sit there bouncing them, thus, bouncing the WHOLE area around you...OYE!
I'm hungry. I think I'm going to go now and get something to munch on.
Y'all read a classic tonight,
Love Ya :)
