As time goes on....

...Ha, no, my title does not refer to Chicago's "Color My World", however, I AM listening to it right now.

The minutes turn to hours, hours to days, days to months...sometimes the time seems to go so slowly, other times we turn around and wonder just where all the time went! April 5th marked my eldest child_unit's 20th birthday...wasn't he just a baby in my arms yesterday!?! My youngest child_unit will be 10 this year....hmmm, 10 years in between...the timing couldn't be better.

Guess what I'm doing? Baking you say....well then, you'd be right! Baseball season has started, therefore, making food for the team has started along with it! It seems that I've been baking non-stop lately. We had a bake sale for the Senior class this past weekend, Em and I baked all day Friday, we ended up with 2 blueberry pies, 2 brownie cheesecakes, 1 strawberry cheesecake (the topping was made from scratch too!), and 5 loaves of banana bread. It went fairly well, we started at 10 AM and sold out by 1. I told Em that we should have our own bake sale to raise money for her basketball camp!! I'm sure we could make as much as we had at the whole sale! (and then some!!!!!!) Hmmm, something to think about. Of course, I would be a total glutton for punishment if I took that challenge on, considering we have Alex's graduation party coming up at the end of May! Umm, no, I think there will be NO bake sale! (sorry Em!)

Ah, yes. Baseball/Softball/Track season has started as I mentioned above. Tonight is their first game, thankfully it's a home game. Tomorrow they have their first track meet up in Alcona, and then Thursday is another home ball game. Heh, to top it all off, Em is in a 3 on 3 tournament this weekend at CMU! Do these children EVER STOP!?!?! *sigh* nope..they don't. I suppose I would have it any other way though, it does keep them out of trouble. I'm very, very proud of all that my children have accomplished and in awe of the plans they have for themselves for the future. (well, the older ones anyhow)

*GASP* Someone pinch me! I think the sun is making an appearance!!!! I'm SO ready for Spring, I want to see the trees in full foliage again, I can't wait to smell the sweet fragrance of the Apple blossoms, to see how beautifully delicate they are with their pink and white petals. God sure knew what he was doing! Spring is the most amazing of all the seasons, new life springing up everywhere, new births anticipated. Our calico cat, Evil, is about ready to have her kittens ANY day now. The kids are really excited, they go out and check on her every morning :)

The desire to open up a small dessert shop is overwhelming. I would love to be able to bake for people that don't have the desire, ability, or time to. Too bad that such a task is too costly. Sheesh, the city sees to that just with how much they want for taxes!! Too many of the businesses have shut down because of high taxes. It's truly a shame.

I got to visit a friend from high school on Easter. It was great to see her! I really do miss the people I went to school with. Funny how people from your younger years seem to stick with you through life, if not physically, they're always there in your memories. Sometimes it's comforting holding on to the memories of youth, sometimes, though, it makes you sad for what you don't have anymore. I still miss Tammy horribly, I've never had another friend like her, somehow, I doubt I ever will again. *sigh*
**mental note ~ call Tammy later**

I suppose I need to quit for now, it's time to get these cookies packed up for the baseball game.

Y'all enjoy a home baked goody today,
Love Ya :)
