Colds Suck

I guess my title is a little off, because actually, all I've done is a lot of blowing! (and coughing) It's slowly going through the whole house, just 3 more child_units to go. Tom says he doesn't feel well, but I think that's more of him "expecting" to get sick because everyone else has, he usually escapes the sicknesses.

School is still going fairly well. I'm still thinking that my English prof. is a bit picky, especially in his expectations of our sources. I just can't figure out what he's looking for and whenever anyone of ask him, we leave more confused than before! For example, I'm writing on the topic of abortion....I have a source in there supporting that abortion is bad for a women because of the potential health risks including cancer. He wrote in my paper that the topic isn't about the woman, but about the fetus?!?!?!?! Well shoot-dang...all this time I thought the constitution was changed because of a woman's right to her body......I know that the baby is a large factor in it all, but the whole concept behind abortion was the fact that a woman wanted to have the right to do what she wants with "her" body. I could be wrong....(I understand that the underlying precept was to NOT be pregnant anymore). I'll be very happy once this class is over! I'm not sure how I did on my Government exam yet, we took it Monday and he won't have them corrected and graded until this coming Monday...I hate waiting. I'm sure I didn't do better than average though. Yes, I did study but went braindead when it came to the short answers. I answered my essay first while it was all still fresh in my mind. There were a few multiple choices that I'm sure I got wrong unless I'm a great guesser. I'm pretty sure we didn't go over a few of those questions, but, I'm sure they were in the book! Spanish is going ok too, I got an A on my last quiz. I have an exam in there next week sometime. It's starting to get a lot more difficult just trying to remember all the verb tenses and when to use them, I must say, there's a LOT of memorization involved at one time!

I feel the need to fetch a tissue now, so I will say adios before I sneeze all over the puter....besides, it's too nice to be inside today so I think I will go out and enjoy the sun and warm breeze!

Y'all stay healthy,

Love Ya :)

Spring Has Sprung

Yes, it is true, today is the first full day of Spring, 2006!! It actually looks like spring outside too....key word being..."looks". It is still VERY cold out there, and with this being March, there are the bone chilling winds to contend with too! I can't believe how windy it's been the past couple of weeks! Oh well, fairly soon we'll have beautiful weather!

I'm not too happy with my grade in English right now....he gave us our grade up to date and it's a B+. This grade disturbs me to no end! If you add the 20 points he didn't give me because I was "2" lines short of the required minimum and the points he took because I forgot HIS name on my paper in the formatting....I would have an A in there. The mistakes were mine, yes, but I think the grading is a little harsh! So far in Spanish, I have an A- and the same in Government. (Stinking B+ anyhow) I guess I'll just have to try harder, I don't know. It's funny though, I just wish I cared this much about my grades when I was still in high school, however, I don't think it really matters much in the scope of the big picture and how my life really turned out. I just hope I can be some sort of good example to my child_units.

What a weekend I had...OYE!! I won't even really go into it all, let's just say that 220 lbs. of drunken dead weight is no fun to deal with!!!!!!!!!!!

On the brighter side of the weekend, the AGS Sr. High Band went to their District (I think) Festival on Saturday...they were awesome (regardless of what Ross and Ben think). They must of been awesome because the judges certainly thought they were :) they scored straight ONES all across the board...WOO HOOOOOOO, Y'all ROCK!!! I can't wait until next year when my 3 older child_units are all in the Sr. Band. That's gonna be cool! I hope they at least do summer jazz band again this summer, that's always fun to go and sit on a lawn and listen to them play! Speaking of band, D has definately declared that he will be playing drums in band. Christen still states that band is stupid. I'm sure she'll change her mind when she realizes that she can play keyboard in jazz band ;) Ya know, she really does like the guitar too, she was always happy when Jon too the time with her and started to teach her to play. I guess we'll just have to wait and see which way she goes. (I'm still betting that it's gonna be the flute)

Well, it's time to go and pick the child_units up.

Y'all go and fly a kite, it's sure windy enough!
Love Ya :)

Chemically Dependant

No, I do not have a drug problem as one might think by the title, let's just make that clear. There are, however, different ways to be chemically dependant. Ok, yes, maybe I am dependant on caffeine...that IS a chemical, but not a terribly mind altering one. Endorphins are a wonderful chemical, for the most part anyhow....how can you deny the euphoric feelings that those sneaky little endorphins can bring on? Anyhoo...

I now call my English Prof. "Mr. Vain". I got a paper back last week and I was NOT happy about it. I got an A on the paper, yes, reason to be happy....BUT, he took my grade down one whole grade because I forgot HIS name on the paper :
He said it wasn't formatted correctly, therefore bringing my grade down ONE WHOLE GRADE!!! THAT SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This comes directly after giving me a big, fat ZERO on the previous homework assignment because it didn't meet the required 3 FULL pages. I was 2 lines short of 3 full pages. 2 STINKING LINES. Yes, I accepted the responsiblity for that one, how could I not? I knew the requirements, I guess I just didn't think that 2 lines would be a big deal. Otherwise, the class is still pretty cool. My next research paper will be 4 full pages with ONE word on page 5. We can go over, but it better be the full requested 4 pages. I wonder if I can make it so that there's only a punctuation mark on the 5th page.....Hmmmmmmmm, (rubbing chin with a pondering look) this will take some doing, but I think I can do it >:)

Do you ever really listen to the DJ's on radio stations? Ya know, they can either make or break that station! Some are absolutely boring, I mean really, they can put you to sleep or leave you wondering how they even have enough common sense to run the boards....but then you have the ones that are incredible, you can't quit laughing, I've found myself laughing so hard that I start crying on my way to school sometimes just listening to 96.1. Some people don't like Johnny Burke, but I find him quite funny. Granted, some of his jokes in the morning are lame, but hey, not everyone is perfect ALL of the time! He was in rare form at 6 this morning.......KNOCK IT OFF, YES, I was up at 6 this morning, I had to take the two older child units to driver's training. (sheesh, y'all act as if I never wake up early) My favorite part of their show in the morning is the "Butthead Bulletins" I can't honestly believe how some people can be as stupid as they are just by some of the things they read on there. But, they are. Yup, it's all in the delivery. Either they got it, or they don't.

Ahhhhhh, I love this song...."The Leader of the Band" by Dan Fogleberg. I've loved it since the first time I heard it...a longggggg time ago. Anyone of you that plays the guitar should get the tabs for this song and play it for me for my birthday :) Of course, the horn section in this song is awesome too....hmmmm, a whole band playing this song for me on my birthday....*hint hint* I think it can be done! :) Shoot, I've pretty much given birth to enough children to have a whole band!! We just have to get D going on some sort of instrument **coughBENcough** (step up to the plate son!) Ok, we'll have to make a poll on what instrument D should play....he's psycho enough to play the drums, that's for sure! He could also take over the legacy of the trombone. I'd be happy if someone would just start teaching him the recorder **coughBENcough** What do y'all think? What does D's personality seem to want to play instrumentally? Christen for that matter too. She's loving her piano lessons right now, but I think, once in band, that she's gonna want to be one of those "flute" players. hmmmmmmmm, I guess we'll have to wait another year and a half to find out.

Evanesence is enjoyable to listen to at times too. I'm now listening to "My Immortal" I really like this song. I can't get over the background "morse code" that I hear though. I wish I knew if it really was a hidden message in the song. Interesting.

Recently, as recent as spring break, a friend got a tattoo, it's cool! I know they're permanant, and some people just don't think they're cool or logical, but I would love to get one. Of course, it would be a smiley :) What else would I possibly get!?!?! Not just a smiley, but a winking smiley ;) I don't see it ever happening though. Who knows though.

Hmmmmm, Scorpion's "Send Me an Angel" awesome tune too, yes, I have mentioned it before in my blog. I still love it!

The duties of the house are calling me, it's time to go and start preparing the evening meal. Before I go though, I want anyone that reads this to let me know their favorite song and why.

Y'all enjoy a tune, on the radio or otherwise,
Love Ya :)

It Is Finished

It actually refers to more than one thing, but right now I'm talking about Spring Break...and yes, it is finished after today.....tomorrow I return back to Delta. I've actually really enjoyed this last week of not having to expose my brain to a lot of thought processing. I tried doing some of my Spanish homework yesterday while at Em's basketball game(s), but really couldn't concentrate because of all the noise. Speaking of basketball games...that's another "It"...the basketball games are FINISHED!!! WOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!! Oh...I'm sorry...does my enthusiasm over the finality of the basketball season show that much?...I'll try to curb my excitement...WOO HOOOO!!!!

Spring has almost sprung. Yesterday, in Midland, it was a very balmy 60 degrees. How lovely is that?!?! Today, however, is another story...it's cloudy and cool. The weather reports are calling for snow by tuesday...I don't know if I like that much at all. This is Michigan though, I'm sure we'll probably have snow falling, once in a while, well into May.

In all of my excitement of the first paragraph, I just about forgot what follows basketball.....MORE SPORTS! OYE!! *sigh* it's never ending...Track and Baseball start tomorrow, well, practices anyhow. One of the child_units here will have to be up by 5 to get to driver's training, go to school all day, track practice directly after school and then baseball practice from 6-8 pm. Wow, I guess I won't hear much from him for a while! The eldest child_unit has driver's training also and will have to divide his afterschool activities between play practice and track practice. Em on the other hand will have to divide HER after school activities between play practice, track, softball AND Science Olympiad, oh yeah, I guess she still needs to practice basketball for a 3 on 3 tournament she's going to be in the end of this month. (I think she is doing wayyyyyyyy too much!!). Not to mention that the younger ones are determined to play ball this summer too. At least Christen is resolved to the fact that she's not going to play hockey, although she still wants to do figure skating. (ahhhhhhhhhh, a more feminine child!!)

Before I forget, D's spots were from a viral rash, I guess whatever made him sick and have a fever worked its way out in the form of that rash. It didn't itch or anything, but it was no big deal. He actually still has a few of the spots on his belly and chest, but nothing compared to what was there.

Well, it's time to take the eldest child_unit to work so I will finish here.

Y'all start the countdown to spring!!
Love Ya :)
