Drawing a Blank...

Of all the things you can draw; water, a picture, a conclusion, etc...I seem to be drawing a blank as far as a title goes. Hmmmm, title block I guess. Today was pretty uneventful as days go.

I'm really getting to the point where I MUST follow my schedule, if I don't, I seem to get pretty cranky. I like to get up at my lazy pace, make my breakfast which consists of 1 C. Oatmeal w/ 1/3 C. craisins, one hard boiled egg and 1 C fat free milk. I then proceed to my treadmill where I walk for 30 minutes or 200 calories. If I get to 200 calories before my 30 minutes is up, I continue walking for the last few minutes. Next, it's off to the shower! I've lost 9 lbs since the first of January and a few inches off my waist. I'm feeling a lot healthier too. Yes, I do eat well through the day too. I've cut out SO much of the carbs that used to keep me going through the day. Only 4 starches the whole day and when it's bread, it's always whole grain, no enriched products if possible. I think the thing that makes it a lot easier is that I don't drink pop, (soda, carbonated beverage, coke(gag) ) I haven't had one in almost 4 years!! My child_units still try to tempt me with the occassional Dr. Pepper, but I'm far beyond that :) My only downfall is still white chocolate. I can do w/out the regular milk chocolate, but man, sometimes I just HAVE to have that Lindor Lindt White Chocolate!!! Oh yeah, I do and extra few minutes with the hula hoop when I indulge, so, it's all good. Em wants me to wear baggy clothes until I've made a drastic, noticable difference in my appearance and then make some kind of grand entrance. Might be fun :)

My eldest child_unit made a little progress today, woo hooooo, he actually wrote his letter for scholarships!!!! He still has to get 2 letters of recommendation though, one from a teacher and one from a person in the community. No problem with either one of those. Progress to be sure!!!

Alex has decided to run track this year, I'm very pleased with that decision. I know he can do well. I just wish Ben would run. This IS his last year after all. He seems pretty much against it though. Em, of course, is running. She'll be doing shot-put and discuss too probably. Of course, she and Alex will probably be into softball and baseball, respectively, at the same time.

The basketball team, Alex's that is, won their game last night. It was an incredible game, they won in the last 3 seconds of the game. They played this team at their first game of the season and lost by 30 some points. They, the other team, was NOT happy about losing! Alex's coach rewards the player with the most rebounds with a pizza and Alex had the most rebounds this game. I think it's the second time he's won it.

Hmmmm, tomorrow feels like a baking day. I found a new recipe for Oatmeal Craisin cookies, I think I need to make them! Yesterday, I made these Fudge Brownie Bites. They were like little brownies in a tart shell. YUMMY! Yes, I did eat a few. (they're really small, OK!) I might make some no-bakes too, both chocolate/peanutbutter and just plain peanut butter ones. Those are actually pretty healthy, except for all that sugar. Hmmmmm.

Well, I think I'm gonna go and read more of my book, plus, I think others want their time on the puter.

Y'all cuddle up and read,
Love Ya :)

Sizzle Sizzle Pop.....

First of all....Happy New Year to everyone. Yeah, I know I'm a bit late, oh well, better late than never :)

In my last posting (so long ago) I made the statement that you should NEVER ask, "What Next" well.........JUST DON'T DO IT!!! That "cold" that I had turned into bronchitis, coughed for a month, in November I was working at the school and got the flu from everyone there which quickly turned into Pneumonia. As if that didn't suck enough, the antibiotics that the doc prescribed me, same ole amoxicillin that I always get, gave me hives and now I'm allergic to it! After taking another antibiotic for a week, I started to slowly get better, still coughed a lot but the "pants p'ing" with every cough started to cease. Well.....D decided to share. What did he share you ask? Wellllllllllll.....he shared his lovely head cold! I am very happy to say that I am relatively healthy at this point in time. **knocking on wood**

Alex healed up well and rather quickly. He's playing basketball now as well as practicing his passes for football already. I don't think he's very amused about his collar bone being somewhat of a weather detector though. When a storm is coming, it aches. Speaking of collar bones, Em thought she broke hers the day before yesterday. They were playing a basketball game of sorts (lightening) and someone's arm came down on her collar bone, thus, her calling me at home in pain. We went straight to the doc and he took her in as an "walk in" which was really nice, didn't have to go and sit at the emergency room for 4 hours! He checked her out and said that it wasn't broken but the bone was more than likely just bruised. She's feeling much better today after a couple good doses of motrin 600 and a few ice packs. She even played at her volley ball game last night and did very well!

Did I mention that it snowed today? Well, it snowed a LOT! I had to go and help shovel today, needless to say, I'm very sore! Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know...cry me a river! No basketball games tonight because the rivaling school didn't have classes today due to freezing rain. Em didn't have volleyball practice either, wooo hoooooooooooo, a night off!

Right now I have a pork roast cooking, it keeps sizzling and popping in the roaster and it smells AWESOME!!! I'm soooooo hungry! Seems that I'm always hungry now-a-days. I started my new "healthier living" diet on Jan. 1. I've almost lost 10 lbs. so far. I get up every morning and eat oatmeal w/ craisins and a hard boiled egg (no, the egg is not mixed in w/ the oatmeal) and then I walk on the treadmill. At first I just walked for a 1/2 hour, but then I started to walk up to 200 calories, now I reach 200 calories before I get to 1/2 hour :) I do keep going until I hit the 1/2 hour mark though. I'm starting to get calves of steel now, heheheh, and literally walking my "arse" off!!!! I do eat more through the day, but not the huge amounts of breads that I used to once enjoy, or all the candy and other delights called "junk".

Ben will graduate this year. I think I may have mentioned that in past blogs. I just wish that he would get busy doing what he has to get done as far as scholarship applications!

Hi Sarah :) (I loot at my rock every day!)

I guess my South Dakota trip is not going to happen this summer, I'm really bummed about that. My mother-in-law is going to California again and just doesn't want to make that extra trip this year. Perhaps I'll go to Florida to visit my uncle. He offered to fly me down there for a weekend and I really do miss him. (he's my favorite uncle and he's my Godfather) I guess I'll just have to wait and see what happens. I do know that I'll still have my Cedar Point trip this summer yet!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe if the youth group wants to go, I can go twice! That would be more excitement than I could contain!!!! Top Thrill Dragster, here I come!

Well, as exciting as this post probably really isn't, I should get going and get supper finished. I will try to post a little more often ;)

Y'all keep warm!
Love Ya :)
